Park and Recreation Month - JULY
For more than 40 years, the United States has celebrated Park and Recreation Month in July to promote building strong, vibrant and resilient communities through the power of parks and recreation. This month is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals — along with hundreds of thousands of part-time and seasonal workers and volunteers — who maintain our country’s local, state and community parks. This year’s theme — “The Power Of…” — celebrates how parks and recreation brings us together through the power of play, nature, belonging and the people in our communities.
Financial Sustainability Certificate Program
The Financial Sustainability Certificate Program (FSCP) is a multi-day professional development program designed to strengthen the financial knowledge, decision-making, and long-term sustainability practices of parks and recreation organizations. The program provides practical tools and methods for building effective financial sustainability strategies that support resilient, community-focused parks and recreation systems.
The Financial Sustainability Certificate Program is taught by Jamie Sabbach, Founder and President of 110%, and provided in partnership with the Vermont & New York Parks & Recreation Associations.
