Park and Recreation Month - JULY
For more than 40 years, the United States has celebrated Park and Recreation Month in July to promote building strong, vibrant and resilient communities through the power of parks and recreation. This month is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals — along with hundreds of thousands of part-time and seasonal workers and volunteers — who maintain our country’s local, state and community parks. This year’s theme — “The Power Of…” — celebrates how parks and recreation brings us together through the power of play, nature, belonging and the people in our communities.
Virtual Meet Up
We entered the field of Park and Recreation because we believe in the mission, the community impact, and the moments of joy. Yet behind every program and smiling photo is a professional navigating compassion fatigue, public and political pressures, limited resources, and the constant demand to do more with less. This quarterly meet-up will provide a safe, supportive space to check in, connect, and support one another.
