NRPA Congress Scholarship
Apply for the NRPA Young Professional Fellowship or Diversity Scholarship Program
Are you an exceptional leader who shapes your community and inspires and educates others? NRPA recognizes members of ethnic minority groups and young professionals like you by offering the NRPA Young Professional Fellowship and the NRPA Diversity Scholarship Programs.
These programs are designed to expose professionals, citizens, students of ethnic backgrounds, and other young professionals in the field of parks and recreation to the operation of NRPA and its governing bodies. Participants meet with NRPA leadership and attend various education sessions and board committee meetings at the NRPA Congress & Exposition, October 13-16, 2009, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ultimately, it allows members of underrepresented populations to experience NRPA events who would not otherwise be able to attend. The primary focus of this program is to inspire future participation and leadership in NRPA, and to develop contacts with NRPA leaders and other professionals from around the nation.
The NRPA Young Professional Fellowship program selects one fellow from each of eight NRPA regions. The NRPA Diversity Scholarship program allows up to four professionals or citizens and four students to participate. Both programs provide complimentary full-package registrations, which include access to all education sessions, the career fair, the NRPA expo hall, and social events. A $500 travel stipend is also provided to fellowship and scholarship recipients.
