SportsNet
SportsNet, part of the Rochester Rehabilitation Center, provides integrated sports and recreation opportunities for people with physical disabilities by collaborating with community organizations. A schedule of "try it" clinics are offered in a variety of sports, as well as ongoing programs that promote the inclusion of people with and without disabilities to recreate together. SportsNet serves as a clearinghouse for sports and fitness information and activities of interest to people with disabilities and is partnered with the Monroe County Sports Development Corporation.
The SportsNet staff members are professionals certified in therapeutic recreation (CTRS). Programs are conducted by experts in particular sports, recreational, or fitness activities who have been oriented to work with people with physical disabilities.
